My brother David's birthday today! We went and picked up our new (second-hand) campervan today - we're very excited. Spent most of the day talking about the places we're going to visit. Our first trip is going to be this weekend - to Borrowdale - not too far!! We popped in to see Jean on the way back to show her the van. Spoke to Darren then spoke to Alice - she's been over to Germany to visit Dale and Holly and she's hoping to move into her new house in about four weeks' time!!!

Went over to Cowgill first thing this morning - got the house valued today so hope to put it up sale soon. Saw Dennis and Kate and Judith. Another lovely hot and sunny day.

Went over to Cowgill this morning to have a final clean and tidy up as we've got the estate agent coming tomorrow to value the house and hopefully we can put it up for sale. I took this photo of the village of Dent on the way home - it was another lovely sunny day.

F has taken his mum home this morning and I walked into town and got all my hair cut off!!! It feels great! Called in at my RC class and got weighed - lost one and a half pounds - no idea how!! Going to pick up Sheila later and we're going to Caroline's leaving do at Gianni's.

We had to travel up to Scotland today - to Dalkeith near Edinburgh for F's uncle's funeral. Weather was gorgeous and it was good to meet up with all his relatives. We stopped at Annandale Water Services and I took this photo.

Not back at work now until Tuesday! Start my new hours next week - Tues, Wed and Thursday next week, then just Wednesday and Thursday for three weeks!! Yet another photo from the garden!

Drove back home today. Stopped off at IKEA and got a few bits and pieces for the van. Got home and found this pile of feathers on the back lawn - think it must have been the sparrowhawk or a cat!

Woke up to sunshine so we decided to drive back to Sandymouth Bay and walk along the coast in the other other direction and ended up at Northcott Mouth and sat on the beach there and read our books. Then walked back and plonked ourselves on the beach. Put our wetsuits on and played in the sea with the bodyboard - great fun! Had another lovely meal in the evening at The Olive Tree.

We were planning to walk along the coast from Bude this morning but there was a really heavy downpour of rain so we ended up driving to Sandymouth Bay and walking along the coast from there. We got as far as the listening station near Morwenstow then we walked back and sat at Duckpool for a little while then back to Sandymouth Bay and sat in the sunshine again. Had a lovely dinner at Life's a Beach in the evening overlooking the beach at Bude.

We drove down to Bude today - called in at F's mum's on the way. We got there mid-afternoon and drove straight to Widemouth Bay - it was lovely - weather gorgeous. Then went back into Bude and found our B&B - very nice!

Gave Justina her little bunch of knitted flowers. Left work at 12.30. Came home and packed for our weekend away. Zefferellis tonight!

I've been knitting more flowers - some for Liz's birthday today and some for Justina's birthday on Friday!! Another busy day at work today and no knitting this evening as I'm out again tomorrow evening (going to see Harry Potter) and we're away this weekend.

Woke up to more rain!! Did a bit more tidying up before leaving Cowgill to come home to Kendal. Now we're going to watch the British Open Golf and a bit of the Tour de France!

A very wet day in Cowgill - we had planned to go walking but it was too wet!! We drove up to Hawes and then over to Settle. Did a few more bits on the house and then went out to dinner with Kate and Dennis - had a really nice meal in the George and Dragon in Dent. We found three little house martins on the windowledge in the morning - looking very wet and bedraggled.

Shopping and cooking today. Made a smoked salmon tart and a sticky prune and date cake. We're off to Cowgill this evening for the weekend - going out with Kate and Dennis tomorrow evening.

Went to RC class today - lost half a pound - half a stone in total now!! Spent most of the rest of the day in the garden - weather was lovely. Didn't go to knitting - I think I'm going to give Thursday evenings a miss from now on. But I like going on a Tuesday so I'm not giving up!! The photo is my Secret Santa present (from Alison!). Saw her last night at the pub quiz - we came second!!!

Spent most of today again at Cowgill and got more done on the house. Weather was lovely - no midgies around today!! Spilled a cup of tea over my laptop and now I'm having a few problems with it!!!!!

We went over to Cowgill this morning and spent the day tidying up the garden - we both worked really hard! Weather was lovely for most of the day - apart from the thunder and hailstones!! We had a take-away curry when we got home.

Met up with Kay, Tracey, Heather, Janet and Marilyn today. We went to the Upfront Gallery first for coffee then to Hutton in the Forest for a picnic. Unfortunately the house wasn't open as it closes on a Friday!! But we had a walk around the lovely gardens and then went back to the Upfront for afternoon tea. I'm off to Grease this evening with Sheila.

Didn't go into work until lunchtime today - really heavy rain this morning. Alice phoned last night - Dale and Holly are off to Germany tomorrow!! Darren sent me a text when I got home tonight to say that Connor has been offered an apprenticeship so that's really good news.
Anne gave me this Orla Kiely shopping bag last night after knitting - a belated birthday present! I'm delighted with it!!!

Bit of a funny day at work today - some good - some things not good. Went to knitting at the wine bar this evening - that was really nice. Anne gave me a belated birthday present - an Orla Kiely bag (from Tesco) - I love it!!!!!!

Had a really lovely day today - Allan picked me up at 10 and we drove up to Tavistock and then met up with James, Kelly and Lilly and then Jon - it was lovely to see them all and Lilly is gorgeous.
