We went over to Cowgill today and couldn't resist taking a photo of the alpaca who lives down the lane and is very friendly! We managed to do a bit more decorating - not too much left to do now.

Went swimming first thing this morning. Came home and made some bolognese sauce (vegetarian of course!), did some sewing (I'm making a machine embroidered 'box') and now I'm just about to do a bit more of my second 'B' sock - would like to get them finished this week. Took a photo of something rusty today!

Drove down to Birmingham today in torrential rain. We went to see basketball at the NIA - Anthony was playing for England (against Wales) and we watched the Sheffield Sharks beat the Mersey Tigers. Went to Cafe Rouge afterwards with Mo and Martyn - lovely day!

We've had so much rain here today - F went over to Dent and it was flooded there. I went swimming in Lancaster first thing this morning. Started my 'B' socks today - I'm knitting Blue Crush - have to try and get them finished in the next two weeks. Made two more Christmas cakes today (very late!!!) but I also had a Christmas card today from Faith!

Did some more baking today - made a lemon drizzle cake and some pistachio macaroons - never made the macaroons before but they tasted good! K & D came over this afternoon for a couple of hours - haven't seem them since before Christmas.

Another photo taken at work today - just as I was leaving at 5pm. It's a bit odd - I wasn't sure how it would look but decided to post it anyway. I've just started knitting another Multnomah. I've finished my 'A' socks so waiting to start the 'B' ones - but have to wait until Saturday to cast on!!!! Keep chopping and changing my mind about which ones to do - I think I'm going to knit Birdwalk socks!

Went to Larch Cottage at Melkinthorpe today with Rosie and Heather and met Janet there. Spent the whole day chatting! I was hoping to take lots of photographs but it snowed so I only ended up taking a couple of shots. We went to the Red Barn Gallery while we were there - some very interesting ceramics and lino prints on display. Lovely to catch up with R, H and J!

Had to go to Lancaster this afternoon and drove back through Morecambe, so stopped to take a quick snap of Morecambe Bay for today's photo. It was a bit brighter in Lancaster and Morecambe than it was in Kendal - more rain today!

I struggled to find something to photograph today - I went to work in the dark and rain and come home in the dark and rain!!! And I completely forgot to look for something of interest to snap at lunch-time. So, when I got home, I went around snapping a few different things and this is the best photo. It's a Hopi Indian that I bought on a walking holiday in the Rockies in Canada a few years ago.
I must remember to take a photo in the daylight tomorrow!!!

First photo of the year! I'm taking part in a Ravelry KAL (knit-along) knitting 26 pairs of socks this year. The 26 comes from the letters of the alphabet - starting with a pattern beginning with 'A' and finishing with 'Z'. As you can see I've started with my Artichoke Ankle socks.
