Another very miserable day today. Going on holiday tomorrow so hope the weather improves! Did some cooking and baking to take with us. Met Sheila this afternoon for a coffee - lovely to catch up with her. This photo is my latest knitting project - taking it on holiday with me so hope to get it finished.

Had a very busy day at work today - so the day flew by! Took this photo of the wet and autumnal leaves even though it's only September! It was the County Show today but couldn't go as I was at work. Going to knitting this evening but not sure if it's on as they've all been to the Show today.

Took this photo very early this morning - some kind of fungus growing in our grass. Worked again today (three days this week!!). Mo's birthday today. Off to the pub for Quiz Night tonight.

Another horrible day today - very windy and lots of rain too. It was Debbie's (at work) birthday today. Did some food shopping on my way home for our holiday. F called - he's staying in Woking this evening - hopefully he'll be home a bit earlier tomorrow evening.

Day at home today - weather not great - lots of rain! Baked some banana and pecan muffins. F has gone down to London - he may not be travelling down there again for a little while.

We went for a walk first thing this morning - it was really dull, misty and cool so we were dressed for winter and then the sun came out - so were really hot!! We walked up on to Scout Scar and got some lovely views. Got home and started packing for our holiday - hurrah!!!! Can't wait!

Had my hair cut first thing this morning - it is VERY short! Had planned to meet Sheila for coffee later but she couldn't make so will meet her next Friday instead. Spoke to David - he's got a date for his op - 27 October and then spoke to Alice - she's all moved in and seems to be settling in. Noticed this new clematis flowering in the garden - brightened up a wet and dull day.

At work today. Went to RC class straight from work - lost two pounds amazingly!! Don't know how! Took this photo at the school where the class is held. Spoke to Allan - he's got his holiday all booked up now - he's off to Hong Kong! Spoke to Susan - good to catch up with her. Had an e-mail from Linda B last night - haven't heard from her for ages. F still down in London - he'll be home tomorrow evening.

At home today - so was F but he was working! The lady from the B&B phoned to say dad had arrived OK. F and I walked into town and I took this photo of a nearby building site. Spoke to Allan tonight - he's going to book his trip to Hong Kong tomorrow. Sent Alice a text - she moved last week but is at the caravan in Wales at the moment so hopefully I'll talk to her later in the week.

Woke up late today - we slept really well - and long!! We set off at just after 11 to drive home. Got home at just after 2 - good journey! Phoned dad when I got home as he's going up to Scotland today for ten days.

Very windy today - we decided to walk along the coast in the other direction. We had lunch on the beach in the sunshine but it wasn't as warm as yesterday and we had little spots of rain.

Had a really good night's sleep and woke up to lovely sunshine. Walked along the coast from the campsite at Garlieston towards the Isle of Whithorn - didn't get that far though - we walked as far as the ruins of a castle. Weather was lovely all day.

Left home at just after lunchtime today to drive up to Scotland for our second weekend away in our campervan. We stayed at Garlieston in Dumfries and Galloway. Good drive up and the campsite was lovely. Tide was out when we arived and when I took this photo.

Lovely sunny day again today - I was at work! Had a lovely evening at knitting - gave Jo her birthday present (green knitted cushion) - she seemed quite pleased with it. Took this photo at Ings this morning - we had to take the campervan in for some work to be done on it.

Really heavy rain for most of the day today. Got to work at 8 o'clock this morning - I'm trying to do a longer day. Went to my RC class straight from work - I've put on another two and a half pounds!! Spoke to Allan this evening - he's planning a trip to Hong Kong and then spoke to David - he's feeling a bit better.

Had a Grand Day Out with Heather, Rosie and Janet. It's been a lovely day. We went to Clitheroe first to visit the Platform Gallery then on to Gawthorpe Hall. Both places had really good exhibitions - the Platform Gallery had some lovely textile work and Gawthorpe Hall had an amazing historical textile collection. Managed to get a photo of the four of us!

A day at home today - it's been really warm and sunny - we actually sat in the garden for lunch! F has now gone down to London. I've finished my Noro cardigan and J's birthday present!!! Fab sky this evening - so took this photo.

Not at work today so did some more gardening - the whole garden is now nearly weeded - then it will be time to start again! Got a text message from Toni to say she has been offered her place at Plymouth Uni - she got the 'A' level grades she needed. I'm so happy for her and so proud of her! Didn't know what to photograph today and ended up taking this - it's an old cushion cover - I'm re-using the cushion pad - it was machine embroidered by me and then dyed.

Had a good day at work today. Went to my knitting group this evening - they've been busy knitting a blanket from lots of different breeds of sheep. They're trying to raise money for the Rare Breeds Society.

We decided to visit Warwick today so caught the train there. Had a good wander around - Gina bought some Aran wool and a pattern to knit a cardigan!! Didn't enjoy our meal this evening - but still had a good day. This is St John's House in Warwick.

F down in London - he was supposed to be going out this evening but has had to cancel it because of the riots. Sent a happy birthday text to Louise this morning. Woke up to rain so we had a bit of a late start to our walk. We walked up a bit of Cat Bells, then up to High Spy then down to Grange and back to the campsite. Lovely walk and it didn't rain too much - lots of low cloud but quite atmospheric!

We drove over to Keswick to say at Low Manistay campsite - our first weekend away with our campervan. It was a fab site - apart from the fact that there wasn't a toilet block!!!! Took this photo of Lake Windermere on the way there.

Darren's 40th birthday today!! F drove me to work as it was pouring down with rain! We packed some things in the van tonight for our weekend away in Borrowdale.

My brother David's birthday today! We went and picked up our new (second-hand) campervan today - we're very excited. Spent most of the day talking about the places we're going to visit. Our first trip is going to be this weekend - to Borrowdale - not too far!! We popped in to see Jean on the way back to show her the van. Spoke to Darren then spoke to Alice - she's been over to Germany to visit Dale and Holly and she's hoping to move into her new house in about four weeks' time!!!

Went over to Cowgill this morning to have a final clean and tidy up as we've got the estate agent coming tomorrow to value the house and hopefully we can put it up for sale. I took this photo of the village of Dent on the way home - it was another lovely sunny day.

F has taken his mum home this morning and I walked into town and got all my hair cut off!!! It feels great! Called in at my RC class and got weighed - lost one and a half pounds - no idea how!! Going to pick up Sheila later and we're going to Caroline's leaving do at Gianni's.

We had to travel up to Scotland today - to Dalkeith near Edinburgh for F's uncle's funeral. Weather was gorgeous and it was good to meet up with all his relatives. We stopped at Annandale Water Services and I took this photo.

Drove back home today. Stopped off at IKEA and got a few bits and pieces for the van. Got home and found this pile of feathers on the back lawn - think it must have been the sparrowhawk or a cat!

Woke up to sunshine so we decided to drive back to Sandymouth Bay and walk along the coast in the other other direction and ended up at Northcott Mouth and sat on the beach there and read our books. Then walked back and plonked ourselves on the beach. Put our wetsuits on and played in the sea with the bodyboard - great fun! Had another lovely meal in the evening at The Olive Tree.

We were planning to walk along the coast from Bude this morning but there was a really heavy downpour of rain so we ended up driving to Sandymouth Bay and walking along the coast from there. We got as far as the listening station near Morwenstow then we walked back and sat at Duckpool for a little while then back to Sandymouth Bay and sat in the sunshine again. Had a lovely dinner at Life's a Beach in the evening overlooking the beach at Bude.

We drove down to Bude today - called in at F's mum's on the way. We got there mid-afternoon and drove straight to Widemouth Bay - it was lovely - weather gorgeous. Then went back into Bude and found our B&B - very nice!
